When you think of Property Guardianship, 'putting down roots' is probably not the first thing that springs to mind.
The flexible lifestyle that a Property Guardian enjoys doesn't usually equate to the long-term occupation of a property. However, when a building is empty for a longer period of time due to planning permission complications or the fact that a new tenant or buyer can’t be located, our Property Guardians sometimes have the opportunity to make their living spaces work for them. Whether that be turning a disused room into a prayer/meditation space or adapting some unused green space into something that is practical and useful.
In the case of our Global Guardians who reside on our managed site in Hackney, Nightingale Primary School, they have done just that by creating this sustainable vegetable garden which provides them with food and enjoyment.
Our Guardians have beaten the quarantine blues by spending time outside to tend the garden and make the most of this space that would have otherwise sat, unutilised and unloved. We are very proud to say that our Property Guardians care for the places they live in as well as protecting them.
“It has always been an important part of our brand DNA to source responsible Guardians and provide them with life-enhancing opportunities through our ‘guardian first’ approach. The social impact that occurs through the use of our Property Guardianship solution often starts with something small, like this vegetable garden, but grows into a hugely beneficial outcome for the Guardians, the property owners, and the local community." CEO – Stuart Woolgar.
