Meet our Guardians // Alice
Posted on January 18, 2021.
Alice has assisted us in protecting two different properties in the two years she has been a Global Guardian. She is currently one of our Kingston based Guardians protecting the caretaker property on the site of a previous school building. She lives there with two other Guardians, including her partner who has been a Guardian for even longer than she has.
Her profession & why Alice loves what she does
Alice has been working in a nursery for a year and a half. She finds her role incredibly fun, with no day ever being the same. The fulfillment she receives from working with children is something she cherishes as it is a “very rewarding job”.
The things we are most likely to find Alice doing in her spare time, are...
- Walking and keeping active
- Going to bars
- Eating out
Here’s what our Property Guardian likes most about Guardian living…
Being able to live in "really cool spaces" that she shouldn't have had the opportunity to do if she were a tenant. Having lived above a pub and in an old psychiatric hospital in Reading, Alice has lived in some unique living spaces since becoming a Global Guardian which has allowed her to have some really "interesting living experiences".
She also likes that Property Guardianship is cost-effective. London living is very pricey so reduced accommodation fees are invaluable. Alice's appreciation of her inexpensive living costs is shared by the majority of our Property Guardians as it allows many of them to save money which creates life-enhancing opportunities for them. Alice also loves the social aspect of her Guardian experience as she gets to meet some wonderful people.
Alice's favourite property & why…
Her current Kingston based property, which she moved into in February 2020. She much prefers to live with the individuals she currently lives with as it is a smaller and much more close-knit group of people than she has lived with in the past.
Types of people Alice feels would benefit from Guardianship…
“Someone who is personable and easy going”.
Property Guardian advice from a current Property Guardian...
The best advice she could give is to “try to be kind and courteous as you generally live with other people, so it’s best to try and get along with them”.
