Global Guardians retains key worker status in the vacant property security sector

Posted on April 8, 2020.

Global Guardians continues to guard empty and closed commercial, residential and retail properties throughout the current novel Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. As per the information provided to our organisation by our trade association British Security Industry Association (BSIA), we are considered as key workers because we meet the following:

'Roles essential to supporting law and order, with the potential to reduce demand on policing, also meet the critical worker definition.' See the BSIA's article concerning this information here.

Global Guardians has been a member of the BSIA for many years and we have been at the forefront of creating and implementing British Standard BS8584:2015 vacant property protection, with the Protection by Occupation, as our main service delivery.

Since the government lockdown and the devastating news on a daily basis of increased infections and fatalities, we have been doing everything we can to secure empty properties until our country recovers. Our property guardians have been absolutely incredible and Global Guardians would like to thank them for being so resilient in the face of this major crisis. Our teams are still working tirelessly throughout night and day to ensure Global Guardians continues to operate as Safe Hands for the property owners who utilise our services.

In these challenging times it is easy to forget about the threats posed to buildings that are left empty, especially during lockdown, when it is very difficult for facilities managers and people responsible for the security of vacant property, to be able to attend site.

Global Guardians have received a massive increase in demand for site inspections, patrols and keyholding for our clients in order to help them manage other properties within their portfolios that have suddenly closed and become vacant.

Please do not panic. Global Guardians is still operating due to our key worker status. Even if you are not currently one of our clients, we are here to help you.

So if you are responsible for a vacant property during this time of crisis Global Guardians will be able to assist you.

Please do not hesitate to contact Global Guardians on 020 3818 9100 and press option 2. One of our security experts will provide with a bespoke, end-to-end solution for your vacant property security in moments.

Stay safe and keep well.
