Global Guardians ‘Defurb’ Empty Buildings
Posted on October 27, 2015
The latest trend in office refurbishments is a new concept called ‘Defurb’. What this means is that rather than carrying out a full office re-fit with suspended ceilings, plaster boarded walls and carpeted raised floors, the natural features of the property is brought to the forefront with exposed ceilings, brickwork and flooring.
This back to basics look is particularly attractive to the latest generation of office workers and many big players are already pioneering this trend to their commercial occupiers. It is especially popular in
Global Guardians carries out a ‘Defurb’ of our own when it comes to creating living spaces for our property guardians to secure.
As we are not a lettings agent or a landlord we do not offer tenancies. What we do offer though is temporary non-exclusive licence agreements to working people to secure empty buildings for our clients.
We manage security for a diverse portfolio of properties from empty office space to vacant retail units to former town halls, schools, hospitals and so forth.
Each one of these buildings receives the Global Guardians ‘Defurb’ treatment whereby we clear all debris from the building, paint the walls, install temporary shower pods and kitchens and clean the entire living space.
Our guardians then complete the ‘Defurb’ process by adding their own personal touch to the shell provided. A large amount of our guardians are creative types and transform the living space into a far more interesting aesthetic.
As Cordea Savills Lucy Winterburn says: ‘the (commercial) tenant base in all areas is becoming more creative. I don’t see why it should be limited to architects and groovy people. Lawyers don’t need suspended ceilings and I’m sure many would prefer this type of working environment.’
By applying this philosophy to your empty building you too will see the benefits of having Global Guardians ‘Defurb’ your vacant property whilst at the same time keeping it safe from squatters, anti-social behaviour, metal theft and the onset of property obsolescence.
